Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-26
1. About Moot
These Terms apply to the Moot platform, mobile applications and website at moot-deliver.com, operated by Moot Platform LTD (company number NI741904), registered in the United Kingdom, with an address at 192-202 Obins Street, Portadown, Craigavon, Northern Ireland, BT62 1BU, United Kingdom (“Moot”, “we”, “us” or “our”). The public-facing brand is Moot.
Moot is a technology marketplace. It helps people and businesses who need goods moved find drivers and carriers whose routes, vehicles or capacity may suit those deliveries. We provide matching, booking, messaging, tracking, proof of delivery and payment tools. We do not ourselves collect or deliver goods unless that is separately agreed in writing.
The person or business who actually transports the goods is the assigned driver, carrier or freight company — not Moot. That distinction matters for insurance, road law and the contract of carriage.

Moot Platform LTD, 192-202 Obins Street, Portadown, Craigavon, Northern Ireland, BT62 1BU, United Kingdom. Company number NI741904.
In these Terms:
- Sender means the person or business posting a parcel or freight shipment.
- Driver means an individual using Moot to carry parcels or freight.
- Carrier / freight company / fleet owner means a business that registers vehicles, routes or drivers and accepts or assigns loads.
- User means anyone with a Moot account.
- Shipment or job means a listed delivery opportunity or an assigned movement.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. If you use Moot for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation. You must give accurate registration details and keep them up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account.
3. The Moot marketplace
Senders post shipments with collection and delivery details, size, weight, timing and price. Drivers and carriers can see jobs that the platform treats as eligible for their routes, vehicles and capacity. Moot uses software to match origin, destination, corridor, timing, vehicle and capacity. A match is an opportunity, not an assignment.
How a job becomes assigned depends on the product in the app:
- Public parcels. A driver shows interest. The sender accepts that interest. Moot then confirms the assignment through the existing interest-to-accept flow. The first valid confirmation wins. An expired unassigned parcel cannot be assigned.
- Marketplace freight. A carrier or driver shows interest. The sender awards the job. Assignment happens through that award path, not a race to accept.
- Other freight or fleet tools may let a freight business assign a driver or vehicle from its own team where the app supports that.
Once assigned, the shipment is no longer an open marketplace listing. After collection, the goods are in the driver’s or carrier’s custody and are not relisted as an ordinary open job.
Moot’s role is to operate the platform, take payment from the sender, and pay the assigned driver or carrier according to the amounts shown in the app. Moot is not the sender’s employee and is not, by default, the carrier of the goods.
4. Delivery information
Senders must provide accurate collection and destination addresses, dimensions, weight, a truthful goods description, timing, contact details, special handling notes, and customs information where the movement requires it. Materially inaccurate information can delay the job, increase cost, make the load unsafe or unlawful, or cause customs problems. The sender is responsible for those consequences. Moot may cancel or decline to list a shipment that is incomplete or appears unsafe or unlawful.
5. Driver and carrier obligations
Drivers and carriers must operate lawfully, use a suitable roadworthy vehicle, hold the required licence and insurance, follow collection and delivery instructions, safeguard goods, and provide proof of collection and delivery where the app asks for it. They must report incidents promptly and must not accept a load they cannot lawfully or safely carry.
Moot does not provide motor or goods-in-transit insurance for drivers or carriers. You must arrange the insurance required for the work you accept.
6. Freight owners and fleets
A freight business may register vehicles, create routes, add or invite drivers, assign drivers to vehicles, accept or assign loads, and manage its fleet in Moot. The freight business is responsible for its drivers, vehicles, insurance, licences and any operator authorisations. Inviting a driver onto Moot does not transfer that responsibility to us.
7. Payments
The sender pays the amount shown in the app for that shipment. Payments are processed by Stripe. Moot does not store full card numbers. Driver and carrier payouts are made to the payout account they connect in the app, after Moot has confirmed payout readiness where the product requires it.
The amount you pay, the amount the driver or carrier receives, and any hold period are as shown in the app at booking or acceptance. Those on-screen figures govern the transaction. At the time of writing, the typical marketplace split shown in the product is 75% to the assigned driver or carrier and 25% as Moot’s platform fee, with payout released after a 48-hour hold following successful completion. We may change the displayed split or hold for future jobs; we will not silently change the figures already shown for a job you have booked or accepted.
If a payment fails, the job may not be created, assigned or completed. Chargebacks and payment disputes are handled with Stripe and the parties. If a chargeback succeeds, we may recover the amount from the relevant user or withhold a related payout where the law allows.
8. Cancellations and refunds
You can withdraw an unassigned listing before a driver or carrier is assigned. In that case the sender is not charged for a completed delivery. If a payment authorisation was taken, we will release or refund it once the listing is withdrawn, subject to Stripe processing times.
After assignment and before collection, either party should cancel only through the app or by contacting support. If the sender cancels without a good reason after assignment, we may charge a reasonable cancellation amount up to the listed price, or refuse a refund of a payment already taken, where that is fair in the circumstances. If the driver or carrier cancels without a good reason, the sender should not pay for that failed assignment and we may relist the job or help find another carrier.
After collection, the goods are in transit or in custody. Cancellation then usually means a return or a failed-delivery process, not a simple unused-job refund. Additional costs may apply. We will explain the options we can actually support in the app or through support.
If Moot, the driver or the carrier is at fault for a failure before collection, the sender should receive a refund of any unused delivery charge. Statutory consumer rights are not affected. A refund does not prevent a separate claim for loss or damage where one is available.
9. Delivery proof
Moot may collect collection photos, delivery photos, signatures where requested, timestamps, status updates and other proof-of-delivery records. We may use those records to operate the job, release payout, and resolve disputes. Users must not submit false proof.
10. Loss, damage and delivery issues
Report problems promptly through the app or support@moot-deliver.com, with photos and a clear description. The assigned driver or carrier is responsible for the goods while they have custody, subject to the law and any insurance they hold. Moot can help gather evidence and pause a payout during a genuine dispute. We do not automatically replace lost goods and we do not sell carrier insurance.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Prohibited and restricted goods
You must not use Moot for illegal goods, stolen goods, weapons, explosives, controlled drugs, or dangerous goods that cannot lawfully travel on the vehicle and route used. Do not send live animals, cash or high-value instruments, or temperature-controlled or perishable goods unless the listing and the assigned vehicle clearly support that movement. Moot does not operate a specialist ADR dangerous-goods service just because a freight vehicle exists on the platform. If you are unsure, do not list the goods.
12. Customs
Where customs services are available for a particular route, Moot may allow users to prepare, validate and, when the product enables it, submit customs information electronically to the relevant customs authority. Availability depends on origin, destination, goods, movement type, customs procedure and the integrations actually offered in the app at that time.
For UK declarations, Moot integrates with HMRC’s Customs Declaration Service (CDS) to prepare declaration information. Live submission to HMRC is used only when that capability is actually enabled for the movement. Moot does not currently submit declarations to Irish Revenue.
Customs representation
Where Moot acts as a direct customs representative, the trader or sender remains the principal. You must give authority, provide accurate information and documents, disclose EORI, VAT or other customs identifiers where required, tell us about changes, and review information before it is used. Using Moot does not transfer your legal responsibility as trader or declarant to us. We will take reasonable care with information you supply. We are not responsible for losses caused by information you gave us that was wrong or incomplete.
We describe this as a technical customs service. We do not claim any special status from a customs authority.
13. Delivery and customs delays
Movements can be delayed by customs holds, border inspections, ferry or port disruption, authority system outages, incorrect documents, weather or road disruption. Those events can be outside reasonable platform control. We will not use that fact to avoid responsibilities the law does not allow us to avoid, including our duty to provide the platform with reasonable care and skill.
14. User content
You keep ownership of photos, documents, messages and descriptions you upload. You give Moot a limited licence to host, display and use that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service, complete deliveries, handle payments and disputes, and meet legal duties. We do not claim ownership of your content.
15. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or end an account for fraud, illegal use, serious or repeated breaches, unsafe conduct or misuse. We will act fairly and, where practical, explain why. You may close your account by contacting support, subject to open jobs, payouts and records we must keep.
16. Intellectual property
The Moot name, apps, website, software and original platform content belong to Moot Platform LTD or our licensors. You may not copy or exploit them except as needed to use the service. Your shipment content remains yours as set out above.
17. Platform availability
We aim to keep Moot available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, faults or third-party outages can occur.
18. Liability
This section should be reviewed by a solicitor. It is not a claim of legal compliance.
We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for the independent acts of drivers, carriers or senders, or for goods in their custody, except to the extent the law says otherwise or we were ourselves negligent in operating the platform.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited.
For consumers, we do not exclude rights that consumer law says you must keep. For business users, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost profits, loss of business or indirect loss, and our total liability for a claim about a shipment is limited to the greater of the platform fees we received for that shipment and £100.
19. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have under applicable consumer law which cannot legally be excluded or limited.
20. Complaints and disputes
Contact support@moot-deliver.com or use in-app support. We will look at the shipment record, proof of delivery and messages. Platform dispute handling does not replace your right to use a court, an alternative dispute body, or a chargeback where those rights exist.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The new version will be posted at moot-deliver.com/terms with a new date. Material changes may also be shown in the app. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated Terms, except where the law requires a different process.
22. Governing law
These Terms are drafted for use from the United Kingdom and Ireland. They are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, except that consumers keep any mandatory protections of the country where they live. This governing-law clause should be confirmed by a solicitor.
