Our story
Every day, cars, vans and lorries cross these islands with half-empty boots and part-loaded trailers, while people and businesses pay for deliveries that start a journey from scratch. Moot puts the two together — one platform where a parcel, a pallet or a full load travels with somebody already heading that way.
Chapter by chapter
Delivery is built around dedicated journeys. A parcel is collected by a van sent out to collect it. A pallet moves on a lorry booked to move it. When that vehicle turns for home it often turns for home empty, and somebody still pays for those miles.
All the while, the space to carry that load was already on the road. Same direction, same day, going spare.
A moot is an old word for an assembly — a meeting called so something could be settled between people rather than decided at them. That is the whole idea, and it is why the name stuck.
Moot is the meeting point between someone who needs something moved and someone already making that journey. No dedicated van, no wasted trip. A match.
Spare capacity is spread across everything that moves, so Moot carries on everything that moves. A motorbike cutting through city traffic. A car boot on a commute. A van running half a load. A lorry with three pallet spaces left before the ferry.
Senders post what needs moving and what it is worth. Drivers and freight carriers see what fits the route they are already driving. Parcels, pallets and full loads, on the same platform.
Handing something you care about to somebody you have never met only works if the platform earns it. Drivers are verified before they carry anything. Deliveries are tracked while they move. Handover is confirmed with proof. Payment is held and released, so a sender pays for work that was done and a driver knows the money is there.
Freight carriers bring their paperwork with them: company details, fleet, insurance and goods-in-transit cover are checked as part of joining, not chased afterwards.
A delivery matched to a journey already happening is a journey nobody has to make twice. That is the environmental case for Moot, and it happens to be the commercial one too: the cheapest mile is the one that was being driven anyway, and so is the cleanest.
It is why the network is organised around routes rather than depots. Filling the vehicles already on a corridor beats putting another one on it.
Moot covers the UK and Ireland, including the ferry routes between them, which makes cross-border freight the next thing worth making effortless. Customs support is being built into the same flow: post the load, match the carrier, and let the documentation travel with it.
The ambition has not moved since the first empty van. Every journey fuller, every mile earning, and a delivery network that grows without adding traffic.

What we hold to
The greenest vehicle is the one already on the road. Before anyone adds another, fill that one.
Drivers choose the work that suits them and see what it pays before they accept it. No guessing, no games.
A sender pays less than a journey made from scratch. A driver earns from a journey they were making anyway.
Verification, tracking and proof of delivery on every job. Trust is not a launch feature.
What Moot carries
One box to a boot full, matched to a driver already going that way.
Freight posted by the pallet or the trailer, carried by verified operators.
Both islands and the ferry routes that join them, on one network.
Senders follow the journey instead of ringing to ask about it.
Handover confirmed on the spot and kept against the job.
Money is taken up front and released once the delivery is done.
